Romance in Blush: Bridal Bouquet Preservation
"This wedding took place at Powder Ridge in Mansfield, CT, at the base of the mountain. Typically, I don’t get to witness the celebrations beyond what I see on social media, but this bride opted for bouquet pick-up on her wedding night. Aware of her desire to preserve the pieces amidst her busy schedule, we decided the best solution was to add a pick-up option to her order.
The bride wished to preserve her flowers in a way that would serve as a lasting memory of her special day. She chose a single half-arch bookend and a set of coasters for this purpose.
To dry these pieces, I used silica gel and cut the flowers down to size, allowing them to dry for three weeks before beginning the design process. When arranging the flowers, I faced a dilemma of whether to design them forward-facing or more outright. Opting for both seemed the best choice. (When in doubt, why not do more?) Notably, a small pin from the stems of the bridal bouquet was included in the pieces, adding the perfect touch to the design.
I am thrilled with the outcome and delighted that my bride can keep her flowers forever!
